Hi friends. This is Casey. She is the doggie that lived with my family for 17 years before I came to live with them. She was a Golden Cocker and Poodle mix. My dad always thought she looked like a little Golden Retriever when her hair was shorter. She was kind of more my dad's dog. She was a little mean and mom did not like that part. They had another doggie named Lady for a little while.....I will ask mom to find a picture of her.
My Christmas Day started out by mom putting my sweater on me. After she saw the look on my face she took it off and never put it back on. This was my first present.....I didn't know what to do with it so I ran outside with it and just sat there for a while. They never let me have paper to shred so I was a little confused. This is after I got the hang of opening presents. I had a great time after that. This is one of my new stuffies. A "Chewy Vuitton" purse that my girl got me. I am guarding some of my new toys. My rabbit stuffie has a squeaker in it that sounds like a duck. I really like my teddy bear Wubba. This is my dad holding me and my rabbit stuffie (he is the only one that can lift 60 lbs). I guess he is making a funny face because I am pretty big and wiggly. Note from Lexi's mom: These are the treats that were wrapped up but she ate them so fast that I could not get a picture (except for the cupcake that she ate earlier). I think Lexi had a fun FIRST Christmas. Having her made our Christmas even more special.
I finally got to see Santa Claus today. Thanks to a kind visitor to my blog named Molly. She suggested that we go to PetSmart. Mom doesn't know why she didn't think of that herself.....she goes there all the time. Today was the last day Santa was going to be there so we got lucky. I went with my mom and my boy. There were two big Dobermans in line before me and they were pretty nice. Most of the other doggies were little. Santa let the little doggies sit in his lap but the Dobermans and I had to sit on the floor in front of Santa.
This is me in my new Christmas dress. Mom says I will be wearing it on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Mom says it is usually warm on Christmas so I might not wear it for long. These are my reindeer antlers......they blink. I am not so crazy about them but I kept them on while mom was taking my picture. Right after that I shook them off. I wanted to chew on them a while but mom took them away from me. My dad feels sorry for me that mom puts all these silly clothes on me. Mom says that she dressed her cats up when she was a little girl and I guess she never outgrew it. I have not gotten to see Santa Claus yet. Mom can't find one that takes pictures with puppies.....only kids......she's still looking.
My mom went shopping today and came home with a new stuffie for me. Stuffies are my favorite toys. I love to rip them apart to get the squeaker out and of coarse the stuffing. I had never seen this guy before but he looked like a stuffie. He squeaked like a stuffie. He was a little harder than my usual stuffies. Can you believe it. A stuffie with no stuffing. I thought there was something different about him. Of all the nerve mom !!! Maybe Santa Claus will bring me a REAL stuffie for Christmas. I think I have been pretty good this year (well............ I am only 9 months old !).
My mom put the Christmas Tree up a few days ago and I was getting so excited to play with it.........then she put up a fence around it. She thinks I might eat it and the ornaments. She's right...that's just what I had in mind. I wonder if one of those presents is for me? This is me on the new wood floor. My dad is putting it in himself on the weekends, so he just does one room at a time. I am getting the hang of running on wood............ but I like carpet better. My mom wanted green walls so now my whole house is slowly turning green. My mom thinks it looks happy.
I really love to lay on my girl's bed but I still need help getting up on it like I did when I was younger. My family likes their new wood floors but they are slippery for me sometimes. I can't get enough traction to jump without slipping. Luckily my girl will help me up.
I try to give her my pitiful face so she will always help me.
Aw......finally I made it up. Oh no....here she comes with some strange things to put on me. I don't know what it is!!! Ear muffs !!!!!!!!!!! A spider headband with a vail and some black netting !!!!!! eek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy that my mom and dad still have carpet in their room (so far) and I can jump on their bed any time I want too. Even in the middle of the night with a big toy in my mouth ready to play.
Hi Friends, I woke up this morning to a loud noise outside......so I started barking at it...but it didn't go away. My mom open the back door for me to go outside as usual but there was water falling everywhere (I don't really like water too much). I usually run outside but not today...I just sat and looked at all that water. Was I going to get a bath (I don't like baths).....I wasn't sure. My mom and to give me a little push to get outside. I couldn't believe my eyes............there was water everywhere. My mom said it was RAIN. I was trying to catch some in my mouth...........not bad. After a while I kind of liked it.....so I just in the grass to take it all in.
P.S.- I passed my Star Puppy and my Canine Good Citizen tests last weekend. I will show you my Star Puppy Medal when I get it. My mom sent for it in the mail.
My dad weighed me last night and I weigh 51 lbs. I can't believe I gained 10 pounds since my last post. My dad still holds me on his lap in the recliner though.
Hi Friends ! I am really sorry that I have not posted in so long. My mom is so lame and has not been helping me with my blog lately. I don't know what's wrong with her. Maybe now that school has started again she will start helping me. I finished my Doggie Manners class and now I am taking the Star Puppy class. I am the only one in the class because no one else showed up. I think I like it better when I have friends to play with in class. I went to see my Dr. the other day because my eye was bothering me ( it's OK now) and I weighed 41 pounds. My dad keeps saying that I am a small Golden but I am only 7 months old. I think I have more growing to do.
This is the new wood floor my dad is putting in our house. It is a little slippery to walk on but I am getting used to it.
I miss visiting all my friend blogs so hopefully we can do that soon. I have to keep my eye on mom. I hope all of my friends are doing great !
Lexi had an operation yesterday (she got spayed) and she is not too comfortable today. When she got home last night from the Vet she would not eat or drink anything...I could not even give her the pain pill. The Vet said she had to wear the cone for 14 days but I think that is a little too long.........we will see how she does. This cone is a nice soft one not like the hard ones our other dog had to have. She woke up today with a big appetite. Her Vet said to feed her a soft diet for a few days (chicken and rice)........oh she is in heaven with that. I hope she will go back to eating dog food. She was trying to take the cone off...I guess she had enough of it. She is resting a lot today like she is supposed too. She has jumped on the sofa a few times when we were not looking. She doesn't want to sleep there ( I would let her) just sit for a few minutes and then jump down. She has a nice comfy bed but seems to prefer the ground. She looks so sad with her little cone on. Don't they make pink cones? We like pink.
My dad built this new desk for our office the past three weekends and put it in today. I didn't get to help him build it because he did that in the garage and I am not allowed out there. But I did get to help him put it in...........I don't think he could have done it without my help. I am smelling the drill to make sure it is OK for him to use. It's really noisy......I don't like it much. Here I am getting a screw to give him. I'm not sure if he liked me walking across his stomach. This is me posing under the new desk. We got it all done.............it was a lot of hard work but we did it.
This picture of me was taken at my new doggie training called Doggie Manners. For some reason mom thinks I need more manners. I have only been there one time so far but I really like it. There are big doggies there.......not little puppies. There is one other puppy there...he is 7 months old. He is the white one with tan spots in the picture below. This is two of my new friends from school and me having a group smell........we all seem to like each other. The lab's name is Koda and she is pretty nice. Sammy is my puppy friend. Sammy's mom used ham pieces for his training treats and he got tired of them so his mom gave them to me and my mom gave Sammy some of my treats. I had had never had ham before and I was CRAZY about it.
Note from Lexi's mom: Our sweet Lexi jumped on the dinning room table today.....boy were we surprised and I think she was too. She also tries to steal food off the counters quite regularly now. So that is why we though she might need a little more training or maybe we do. She already had puppy training. I guess her days of me lifting her on to the chair are over. We still think she is the sweetest puppy ever !!!!
My friend Miley gave me this pretty "Kreative Blogger" award a little while ago but my mom has been a little slow posting about it. I'm not sure why. My friend Subi gave me this nice "Honest Scrap" award. So I told my mom we need to post about these today ! Thank you both for sharing these awards with me. I love awards.
Now I am supposed to tell you 7 (for the 1st award) and 10 (for the 2nd award) things about myself. I am going to combine them and do it all at once.
1. I like to sleep on my back (my mom calls it spread eagle)
2. I like to bark a lot
3. I love to chew on the inside roll from the toilet paper (who doesn't)
4. I LOVE to ride in the car
5. I like to chew on weeds
6. I like to pose for pictures (that my mom is constantly taking of me)
7. I like to sleep in my kennel (I usually go in by myself when I get tired)
8. If mom drops some food on the floor while she is cooking, I can get it before she does (even if I am not in the same room)

10.I do not like to take a bath........I think I smell fine)
Now I am supposed to share these awards with 7 (for the 1st) and 10 (for the 2nd) friends.
Here are the friends I am sharing with. I hope you don't have it already. If you don't have time to pass it on that's OK...please accept it anyway because you have a great blog.
My name is Lexi. I am a Golden Retriever and I was born February 19, 2009. I live with my mom, dad, girl and boy in California. I enjoy sleeping, eating, barking and playing with my family. I think my favorite color is pink because almost all of the toys my family gets for me are pink....so I must love it!
